January: Start the year with clean sheets. Score liners and towels at the discount during January's White sales.

February: Stock up on winter cloths, coats, and now boots which go on sale now, to make room in the stores for the spring cloths in March.

March: Small electronics like digital cameras from last year are cheaper in March because this year's models are usually just hitting stores.

April: You can typically find deals on cook wear and other household items because retailers discount them for the Wedding-gift crowd.

May: Yard sales and flea markets are held all year-round, but they really get into full swing when the weather gets nicer in May.

June: Look for deals on gym memberships during the summer months, when people start flocking outside to exercise.

July: Retailers use July forth ( and every holiday for that matter ) as an excuse to hold big sales on everything from cars to carpets. Take advantage.

August: Most summer gear goes on sale to make way for the fall items. Buy grills, air conditioning units, and summer cloths.

September: These days you can find  back to school items on sale, not just school supplies, but you can get a new computer for a very good deal.

October: New home appliances are usually introduced in the fall time, so it's a good time to buy that new dishwasher you've been wanting, since home appliances don't change that drastically in from year to year.

November: Holiday sales are starting earlier and earlier. Score a bargain this month on gift items such as toys and flat-screen TVs.

December: The week after Christmas is the best to get seasonal items at a super deep discount. Buy next year holiday wrapping paper, ornaments, and decorations now.

So time your purchases right and save money all year long with this handy cheat sheet.

I hope this information have been useful, and please tell me down below if you've been shopping this way consciously on non-consciously.

How to be confident?

Hey guys,

Today's post is rather short, but hopefully meaningful. How to be confident? It is the ultimate question. I was really insecure about the way I looked and interacted with the world since I was a little girl, then I discovered a few tips and tricks to boost my confident and I keep them in my mind at all times, and thought I would share them with you.

So here are my tips and tricks to feel more confident:

1. Stop comparing. Stay focused on you:

It's easy to start comparing yourself to other of a certain status, DON"T!! Just stay focused on you, and who you are, you are just as interesting and great as they are.

2. Relax. Go with the flow and don't stress the little thing:

We can fall to the controller hiding inside. We are as humans by nature are control freaks. STOP!! Letting go is the best feeling ever. If you're Christian you can put your trust in lord Jesus Christ and let go. Forget the world and think of you and how amazing you are. Women are very brave creatures, embrace it.

3. Love yourself, you're a gift. Nothing would be the same if you didn't exist:

You are a part of this world, a very important part of the world. You are a wife, a daughter, a sister, or a mom, each has an important role in the lives of others around you. If you look closely, there is at least one person depending on you, and that's enough to feel worthy.

4. Be positive and look for the good in every situation.

Life is beautiful and God is good, It's mind blowing how amazing life is, just with the smallest thing of a baby's laughter or the biggest thing of achieving the number one goal of yours. Be positive and you'll start to see a tiny sparkle every where you look, then you'll feel good about yourself too.

5. Do what you love. Life is too short to waste your time doing anything otherwise:

Whatever the thing you love to do is, if it was makeup, writing or gardening, DO IT!! Just do it for yourself, and work hard on it to make it your full time job, then you'll not call it a JOB anymore, that's what I did, writing is my passion, I decided to make real and here I go, writing everyday, working hard on it, and hopefully one day I'll make it my full time job. It's an amazing confident booster. Try it for me.

You are amazing the way you are, do what you love, and look differently to the world and you'll change the way you think and act.

If you have other advice and tips on how to be more confident please tell me below, and I'll leave you with the word of the wise Demi Lovato who once said "What's wrong with being confident?"

Talk to you later.
Bye!

11 Good hacks: How to achieve anything.

We are all familiar with the nuts and bolts of goal-setting. We should set specific challenging goals, use rewards, record process and make public commitments.

So how come we fail?

1. Stop fantasizing:

It's is the biggest enemy of any goal. Research shows that the positive fantasizing is associated with failure to get a job, find a partner, pass an exam or get through surgery. Those who fantasize were more negative did better.
Don't experience the future positively before you achieve it.

2. Start committing:

The number one reason we don't achieve our good is the  lack of commitment. A powerful technique is the mental contrasting. This involves entering the positive fantasy and throw a bucket of cold reality over it. It's hard but research shows people really responding to it.

 3. Start starting:

A Russian psychologist, Bluma Zeigranik, noticed that waiters only remembered the order while in progress, when completed the orders evaporated from their memory. What Zeigranik effects teaches is that the one weapon to beating procrastination is to start somewhere... Anywhere. It's the first step that could be the difference between failure and success.

4. Visualize process not outcome:

We all think that everything will go smoothly but it rarely will. Visualizing the process of reaching your goals helps focus attention on the steps you need to take. It also helps reduce anxiety.

5. Avoid the What-The-Hell-Effect:

When we miss our target we can fall foul of the What-the-hell-effect. It's known that when you go past your calories limit, and you realize that the target is gone, you start to eat all the wrong foods.
Goals that are vulnerable to the What-the-hell-effect are generally short-term. The effect can be avoided by setting long-term goals.

6. Sidestep procrastination:

When goals are difficult and we wonder if it's worth it, procrastination can creep up on us. The key here is to forget your goal and bury yourself under the details. Keep your head down and use self-imposed deadline.

7. Shifting focus:

You can't keep your head down or you'll get lost in the long-term tasks, the key is to switch focus between the ultimate goal and the task in hand. Research suggests, when evaluating process, especially on difficult task, it is best to stay task-focused. but when the task is easy, or the end is in sight, it's better to switch focus to the ultimate goal.

8. Reject robotic behavior:

Often our behavior is robotic. We do things not because we've thought about it, but because it's habit or we're unconsciously copying someone else. This type of behavior can be an enemy to goals. Ask yourself whether what you're doing is getting you closer to your goals.

9. Forget the goal, what's the aim?

Goals should always be set in the service of our overall aim. But there's a dark side to goal setting, it's easy to get stuck; when there are too many goals, unimportant, easy ones get prioritized over vital. Difficult ones; when they are short-term they encourage short-term thinking. Badly set goals reduce motivation and may increase unethical behavior. Remember to keep in mind the whole point of the goal in the first place.

10. Know when to stop:

Sometimes the problem isn't getting started, it's knowing when to stop. Psychologists have found that 'Sunk Costs' make us do weird things. 'Sunk costs' refer to the effort or money we've already expended in trying to reach our goals. So even when our plan is falling, we keep pushing on.
Research shows that the more people invest in a goal, the more they think it will succeed; irrespective of whether it actually will succeed. Know when to change tack or you'll end up flogging a dead horse.

11. If-then plans:

What all these studies show is the important of self-regulation in achieving goals. Unfortunately, as well all know to our cost, controlling the self can be hard. One strategy with plenty of research to back it up is forming "if-then"  plans. You simply work out in advance what you're going to do in a particular situation. Although it sounds simple, we often prefer to wing it, rather than plan. With a little ingenuity, though if-then plans can be used to surmount the obstacles described above.

Thai pineapple curry

Hey guys,

It's been raining non stop for the past couple of days here, and it started to snow. We're loving the weather, plus it's Alex' first snow, he's crazy about it, and since he's never seen it before so you can only imagine his excitement and joy.

The temperatures reached the lowest of -1 °C, and it's been so cold outside and the wind is crazy, thunder and lighting, it's unbelievable.

So I decided to cook something hearty and worming, and nothing speaks hearty like a good old Thai Curry, with pineapple juice and coconut milk, it is to die for, we absolutely heart it.

Here's what you need to make it.

Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil.
  • 2 Tbsp red curry paste.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced.
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced.
  • 1 (13.5 oz) can coconut milk.
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced .
  • 1/2 cup of fresh green beans or sliced carrots.
  •  1 Tbsp brown sugar.
  • salt & pepper to taste.
  • 1/2 small deli-roasted chicken, warmed, cut up .
  • 1/2 lime, freshly squeezed.
  • Fresh Thai basil.
Directions

Heat the oil and in a large pan and then add the red curry paste. Stir for a minute to release the curry's aromas, and then add the garlic and onion. When they're translucent, add the coconut milk and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
(If you like more tomato flavor, don't be afraid to add a squirt of ketchup.) Add the bell pepper and green beans or carrots. Cook vegetables on low until al dente, stirring occasionally. Add the warmed roasted chicken or precooked shrimp and fresh lime juice just before serving. Garnish with basil, and serve with steamed rice. Serves: 2-4

Try it and tell me if you enjoyed this recipe, and I'll talk to you later.

Then your result is calculated, and they give you a piece of advise too, which is a little helpful. Mine was as follow:
You're going to die by getting torn apart by a walker herd. This is probably the worst way to go, and, like many walking dead extras, it is likely what you'll fall victim to. Maybe try to improve your survival skills, and work on finding a good group of friends to keep you safe because, hey, even the governor doesn't deserve this fate.

So here you go, this was my result.

Are you a walking Dead fan? please comment bellow, and I'll talk to you later.

10 Shopping tips

Hey guys,

Today things will get real, we will talk about shopping.
Shopping runs in our blood as ladies, it's our sport. Despite it's bad influence on our wallet it has very beneficial effects on our health, we use it as a platform to distress and breath away from the difficulties of life and the hectic lifestyle we go through.

Here are my top ten shopping tips, how to shop while saving money and effort.

1. Don't wait to go shopping until you have to:

Every once and a while we go out for a walk in the city or a drive around maybe, and you notice the windows of shops and you say "Wow this is really nice I have to get it", don't think act, buy it now if you think you'll need it in the near future, and on the day of an occasion you will thank your past self for buying it then just because you don't have the time or the resources to buy it now.

2. Shop with a list:

It's probably my no. 1 tip, I do my grocery shopping with my grocery list, same with cloths. It's crucial to have an idea about what you're going to bring home before hand, if you don't want to write it down at least have a rough idea about what are you missing or what you want. Open your closet, look around, see what you need, let's say you need a white top, a black pants, a gray scarf and a red lipstick. Once you're in the mall you will not be looking for the imaginary pink elephant, and will be spending less money on thing  you already have or don't need.

3. Take a trusted friend:

It's very important to have a shopping partner that you can trust and on the same page as you. Remember your friend will be giving you feedback, ideas, directions and an extra eye for what's good and what's great. Don't take someone who loves to spend time looking around tens of shops and will probably go home with nothing or everything. So choose you partner wisely.

4. Set a time frame:

Malls are time consuming, we all know that, don't fall for it. Say you want to spend two hours in the mall, you go in and time yourself, and by the end of your time frame you should be done. Look at your watch a lot and try to achieve you goals, and here where comes the good shopping partner. Remember TIME MANAGEMENT is key.

5. Ask do I need it?

The list is very important to know if you need it or not, but let's say that you were not planning to go shopping and you just found yourself in the mall ask yourself "Do I need it?" a lot in every store and for every item to consider.

6. Don't buy it just because it's on sale:

Sometimes stores will make you go in just because they have a big red sign on the door saying "Up to 70% SALE". You are not obligated to buy stuff just because their on sale, if you need it then it's a plus to have it on sale. So ask yourself if you need it, if the answer is YES buy it. Simple!

7. Try it on before you buy it:

We go home after shopping tired, we through the bags on the bedroom floor and we never remember to even take the cloths out of the bags let alone try them on, after three or four days we try them on and they are not anything like what we hoped, then it's too late to return them.

Always try the items in the store, cloths don't look the same on, try everything that catches your eye.

8. Pay with cash:

Don't use your credit card while paying for your cloths, it's very hard to keep track of what you're spending if your paying for it virtually. Always use cash to keep track. Start with a specific amount of money and try to stick to it.

9. Negotiate when possible:

Shops have a margin of profit on every items that is between 20% to 30% and that is more than enough to give them flexibility to go down a little bit with the price for you, just be polite and try not to bather them.

10. Online shopping:

If you’re buying online, make sure to check coupon sites like RetailMeNot, to see if there are any discount codes that might apply to your purchase, and chick the sizes twice before you order.

These are my top ten tips for a smart shopper, try them because they've always worked for me, and I'll talk to you soon.

Bye.

Things I do when I have a bad day

Hey guys,

I've been going through some bad moments lately due to various reasons. Today I hit one of those low moments, and sat down thinking how I can pick myself up, then it hit me; I always find a way to do something about the way I feel and thought to myself why not blog about it.

So here are some of the things I do to turn my bad day around.

1. Making lists

I have always found making lists very soothing, being super organized is my thing, I'm the queen of to do lists. Thinking about lists takes my mind off of things and the time will pass faster.

Try it, it helps... ALOT.

2. Drinking tea

Tea is full of antioxidants that are good for the body and mind, it will release the stress, help you get a good night sleep, and a clear mind to hopefully start fresh in the morning.

3. Drawing and doodling

Drawing has always been my thing since I was in the tenth grade, such an amazing way to relief stress and take my mind off the craziness around me. Doodling is a fun and creative way to make you think better. I've gone through a million paper and tens of pencils, do I still have them all? Probably not. Did it help me? Heck yeh!!

4. Baking

A great way to deal with a bad day is to end it with a good treat, better if you prepared it yourself. I've had really bad moments in my life and I kicked them on the butt by making amazing Éclairs with the help of Enad my husband, it brought us closer and  brought us peace of mind, and a couple of pounds on the scale.

5. Dancing like a crazy person

Moving your hips and waving your arms around produce endorphins that make you happy and release stress and tension, dancing is the best medicine.

6. Taking a shower

Hot water will make you feel better. The best feeling in the world is when you lay down after a nice shower, I absolutely adore it.

7. Watching funny videos on Youtube.

I can spend 10 straight hours on Youtube watching Shane Dawson' videos, he's my favorite youtuber of all times, he can turn up my whole day up side down, it's unbelievable.

Enad hates he, hehehehe. he doesn't like him because he takes a lot of my time.

Funny animals and babies videos always work, or AFV gets me every time.

8. Give and get hugs

Hugs are the best medicine to boost your amnion system and left up your mood, I always look for someone close to hug, LOVE is made to turn everything around.

These are some of the things I do to help me feel better after a very long and weary day, hope they will help you too.

What are your favorite things to do when you feel down?

What's in my everyday makeup bag?!

Hey girls,

It's been a while since I posted something here, but I promise it will change, and regular posts will be up.

Today I would like to talk about my everyday go to makeup. My routine has changed over the years massively, and most of the products I use now are completely different from what I used in the past, and this is my current routine and what works for me.

I start with a fresh washed face, I use the Dettol Fresh soap bar, it's gentle on the skin and keeps you feeling fresh and hygienic, then I put on my moisturizer the Nivea Soft, my favorite since I was a little girl when my mom used to smear it all over me.

My favorite foundation has changed a million times since I was in collage, but now my top three favorites are the Covergirl outlast stay fabulous foundation, the second favorite is the visible lift smooth absolute, but my no.1 favorite foundation of all times is my Inglot Hd perfect coverup foundation in the shade 81.

I use it almost everyday, its thick consistency make it easy to apply with a damped beauty blinder or a cheap sponge from the craft store. I usually wear a coat or two depending on the occasion and it's a good coverage foundation, I absolutely love it.

I don't have bad dark under eye circles but I use brightening concealer anyways, my favorites are the L'Oreal Magic Lumi concealer, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind and my favorite Inglot cream concealer in the shade 64.

It's amazing coverage and brightening effect works wonders on tired eyes, with it a little goes along way.

To set my face I use either L'Oreal Visible Lift Powder or my absolute favorite MAC Studio fix powder in the shade NC30.

Then I use a bronzer to put color back on my face after looking like a ghost, so I apply Ludanmei bronzer in the shade 17 in the usual places.

My cheeks need a little pampering with Revlon Blusher in the shade 003 Mauvelous, and ELF highlighter in the shade Moonlight Pearls.

That's conclude my face routine. I start with my eyebrows now, the brow routine needs an individual post because of how important it is for me. I use Makeup Forever Aqua brow in the shade 005 as a waterproof gel and I set it with the brown shadows depending on my hair color from my Flormar eye shadow quartet pallet in the shade 103 brown, but I used my NYX eyebrow pencil when I'm on the go.

For the eye shadow I go for a natural colors with golds and browns, I like my Revlon cream shadow in the shade 06 Moonlight Jewels for it's compact size and amazing colors.

For mascara I go for my all time favorite the Maybelline Rocket volume express, it gives the perfect length and thickness to the lashes, I swear by it.

But when I need a little something more I grab my L'Oreal Voluminous false lashes mascara, since it's waterproof and it give my lashes just the most amazing feel and look.

I do have a couple of liquid eyeliner bottles in my makeup bag the Flormar dip liner in black and the Saffron girl dip liner in black, for that perfect cat eye look.

But sometimes I feel like pencil eyeliner just to darken my waterline and make my eyes look darker and bigger, so I do use my favorite, yes you guessed it Flormar pencil liner, Flormar is my favorite drug store brand with the best quality for the best price.

for lipstick I go for  my Revlon Lipstick in apricot fantasy combined with my favorite Bourjois 3D effect max lip gloss in rose fizz.

For brushes I have five brushes, one for face powder, one for bronzer, one for blusher, one for eyebrows and one for eyeshadow, plus I don't live with my drug store sponges.

That concludes my makeup bag collection, I guess I'll call it that my makeup bag collection.
This is my everyday items for my everyday look, easy, simple and cheap, will kind of!!

What are the three items that you can't live without?! Please tell me in the comments below.

And I will talk to you soon.

Love XOXO
Aseel.
